There are a lot of really cool things about living in Colorado, but sometimes I wish we moved around a lot so we could live near all sorts of historic places. This time of year it would be neat to live near Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Here's an interesting article from the same site on the origins of Thanksgiving and how it grew out of cycles of Days of Humiliation and Fasting, and the Days of Thanksgiving and Praise. Honestly, we could probably use more of the former in this country, and to dwell more on the reasoning behind the latter.
