The eternal optimist
I just figured out that you can check Technorati to see where your blog is ranked in the blogosphere.
This is how you can tell I'm a real "the glass is half full" kind of girl, because when I saw that my blog is #95,012, my first thought wasn't dismay at the low ranking...it was, "Out of how many?"

I need more instructions on how to find my blog... I did a phrase search for my title and it didn't find it at all. LOL! Maybe I'm so low I don't even show up.
Laura-When the results come back, the rating is near the top a little under the title. It tells you their rank and how many sites link to you (that's how they determine it.) Is that what you meant?
Renee-Scroll down to "Website URL Search" and put in the address of your blog (not the title, that's why it didn't work.)
Strude-But, no matter what your rank is, there are many many below you, I bet!
I do wish I knew who #1 was, and about how many they have on the system at any given time...

You know what? You may have to register for them to rank you.
I added some code to my blog so that I can check it and see who's linked to me (after I saw that someone followed me back by doing that, luckily I had said something nice! Whew!) and I just figured out it ranks us all, too.
Maybe that helps?
