Drive-in

Posted by Picasa

Tonight we will be taking the family to see Corpse Bride at our local drive-in movie theater. If you're in town, stop by and say hi! We're the ones in the big vehicle with the kids and the popcorn, you can't miss us.

It's the last night they will be open until spring. Sigh.

The drive-in is the BEST places to take little kids to see movies. For one, it's $12 a carload, you can't beat that with a stick! No one around cares if they're fidgety, you can bring your own food, and the kids can ask questions or sing along the whole time, should they be inclined to do so. Or if the movie is a real dog, (Fantastic Four, I'm looking at you!) your three year old son can play with the windshield wipers and other things on the dash while you wait for it all to be over.

Long live the Drive-in!

How fun. Drive-ins are the best. We don't have one nearby, but I agree with you that there's no better way for a family to see a flick together.
Hope you have a fun time and that the movie is good.

Our local drive in (over one town so about 15 minutes away) last summer was torn down to become the parking lot for the new wal mart. i am glad we have a super wal mart so close to us, but it was sad to see the town icon come down. a generation of kids in our valley were conceived there! (oh the next nearest drive in is about an hour and a half away)

Wow, I remember that thing...a big screen outside with funky speakers you hang on your window right? Sure wish they had one here. Haven't seen on of them since I lived in California.

I've never had the pleasure of visiting a drive-in. Sadly, there are none in England.

I've installed you in the Guest Quarters of the Enterprise (bloglist)

Hey--next time we come visit we'll all go together! Of course, we'll have to take two vehicles since there are too many of us. And then, really, it would only make sense to put all the kids in one car, and the grown-ups in another....you know! The two oldest girls will be old enough to be in charge! HA!

WOW! I am so jealous...I would love to have a drive-in, the closest thing we have to that is summer movies in the park...which may sound great but although they're free they're a long train ride away, usually old movies and the area of the park fills up rather quickly. As far as current movies go..they can only be viewed in regular movie theatres and the going rate is $9.00 per movie ticket! What I wouldn't give to be able to enjoy a nice drive-in movie!
