Lest you think we're one of those

homeschooling families with the supernaturally perfect children, let me tell you a little about our field trip today.

We drove out to Chatfield State Park to take some pictures and enjoy our Indian summer day.

We parked and walked out on the dam. There, with the gorgeous vista, and the amazing mixture of God's and man's work, what did we do? We said "dam" as many times as we could.

"Look at that dam view!"

"This is a nice dam walk!"

"Mom, I need to use those dam bathrooms."

"Hey, stay on the dam path, or you'll fall down the dam spillway!"

I'm sure you get the point.

Yep, I'd have to say that's the most enjoyable field trip we've had, by a dam site!

Comments:
Don't you just love those outstanding moments of fine learning? My inlaws used to live near a lake. There were a lot of dam businesses there: The Dam Cleaners, The Dam Donut Shop, etc...
So much fun!

LMAO...leave it to kids to find a creative way to push the limits.

No, Chickadee, I was doing it, too! I'm a baaaaaad mom.

Hee hee - that is totally something I would do!

And that's why homeschool ROCKS! We had a similar experience when we went to Lincoln's Tomb. We had a nose picking contest with his bust out front.

Oh... My husband and I were married at the Canon Dam Opry in Missouri (BH is a country singer when he isn't a lawyer). We had big Dam affair, with lots of Dam music, and even had Dam cake.

We had a Dam good time when we went too.
Which brought up the memory of when my dad took my birthday party to the dam near us for riding down the big hill on cardboard sleds (no snow in LA)... half of the girls ended up in the water on purpose. Even in LA it gets cold in January. LOL Good Dam memories.

I LOVE IT! I'm glad everyone can relate, and I'm going to have to take the kids to Lincoln's tomb to pick his nose, too!

LOL....... I think that is the greatest story this week. It mad eme want to go on a dam field trip.

Sounds like a fine dam trip.

Why didn't I have homeschooling?

That is always a fun joke. It's one of those dangerous ones. The kind that requires just a little thought to make you feel clever. :)

I loved that joke as a kid! I bet your kids will always remember it and how much fun they had with you!

That is hilarious... I remember doing the same thing to my parents when we first visited Hoover!

You are great! I better make sure I keep up with those high morals you are teaching societies younger members! hehehehehe!

Laughing my dam buttocks away! You crack me up...I think I'll have to do that for my next dam homeschooling fieldtrip! ;-)

He he. Sounds like you had fun.
I'm more immature than my kids are! We're going to have to have a nose picking contest soon! He he

DAM! Looks like you had fun!

There's a dam near here with a fairly popular campground, swimming area, etc. The only store within five or ten minutes of the area is actually named The Dam Store.

Come check out my picks of our homeschool nose picking at Lincoln's Tomb! Your Dam Story inspired me to post them.

Thank you so much for not being one of "those" homeschooling families. They drive me nuts. My family is totally crazy and will continue to be even crazier as the kids get older and we will be homeschooling. Thank you so very much for letting me know you exist. I feel better already. :)
