Double Fertile

I saw on the True Blue Semi-Crunchy Mama's Blog that The Queen of Spain has created a contest wherein we must all post photos of ourselves being "fertile."

So, I submit:
33 weeks with twins
Myself at 33 Weeks with Maya and Sage

(You can also check me out at 37+ weeks but I don't look nearly so happy there...)

At this point, both girls were head down, aimed at the drain, and ready to go. They were born full-term and healthy at 38 weeks, a big surprise after my first who was a 24 weeker.

In the interests of full disclosure, in case this matters to the Queen of Spain, Maya and Sage were conceived with the help of fertility medications to help overcome my PCOS and insulin resistance. The medications did not cause me to conceive multiples, though, as they are identical. :-D

Is anyone running a "saggy stomach covered with stretchmarks" contest? I'd like to enter that one, too...

Comments:
I need to dig out my preggo pix and figure out how to get them up here.

That is fabulous that you were able to carry your twins until 38 weeks! Twins do make for BIG pregnant bellies, but then you get double the joy in the end.
Love your pics! Your kids are the best gifts you will ever receive!

I don't think I am able to find any pictures!

Oh no, you aren't going to win on the stretch marks--not if I enter. LOL!

You look fabulous. Carrying twins becomes you. Glowing, lovely, fertile!

Wow! Twins, huh? That's awesome! Do you mind me asking if they both came out the, ahem, drain?

I'm sure I'll post my own when (and if) that day ever comes.

Hey all!

Yes, they both came out the drain, 45 minutes apart. I ended up with more stitches in my woohoo than I would have had in my abdomen if I'd had a c-section. I understand that that's what the drain is for, but I think it's highly overrated.

Running, as far as the stretchmarks go, bring it ON! When and where?

True, true, the drain is overrated. My son had a scheduled C-sec since he was goin nowhere. I would prob still be pregnant with him if the doctors had not gone in after him! But I'll take a C-sec anyday over the drain!

Wow! You look so happy! I'll bet you were happier when the labor was all over, huh? 45 minutes apart? Wow. I'll enter the sagging contest, but do I really have to post pictures?!

That is a great pic! I don't have any digital pics of me preggo. But that saggy stomach with stretchmarks . . . that one I could enter!

Wow! Maybe I'll have to post one. But sorry, girl; I'd win the saggy stretch marks HANDS DOWN!

Oh wait, I just saw your comment on the stitches. They took 1 1/2 hours to stitch me up...they lost count of the stitches. I had 3rd degree tears...Nine pound baby boy who came out lifting and turning his head like a football player. Do I win?

M.C.-I had 3rd degree tears as well, nearly 4th degree (all the way through.) They lost count of mine, too, all they could tell me was that they'd used 4 full packs of suture material. Three days later when I finally had a B.M. I nearly died, I thought I was having a triplet!

We women of many stitches should band together!

OMG. Talk about the pregnant glow... you looked almost radioactive. Had you been in the sun or was that the twins?

Great pictures! Wow.

cube, my rosacea was out of control then, wasn't that awful? It was really bad in person, all bumpy and scaly... As soon as I delivered and could use my regular medication again it got better. I'd do it again though. Oh, wait, I did! ;-)

Thanks, everyone! I'd forgotten how truly huge I was, and kind of scary, too! It was fun to share :-D

Unfortunately, I look the same pregnant as I do every other day. (Except for the lower extremities, which balloon up unbelievably. But I don't have photos of that.)
