This guy lived with his mother & she didn't think there was something wrong with the situation?

It doesn't pass the smell test to me. Time will tell.

This has fishy written all over it. Where the heck is the mom? "She plans to meet with her mother?" The mother wasn't jumping for joy and there or rushing to her? Sounds like a lot of lukewarm going on.
 

I agree I dont think we are getting the full story. The whole thing is just messed up! Glad she is home, but something doesnt sound right.
 

Sounds like the Elizabeth Smart case to me.

Here's the link on the rest of the story, especially about the mom. Nice, huh? She comes home to a mother blaming her for the demise of her marriage.
