All the Ding Dong Day!

Apparently the people who live around here have no idea what the "No Soliciting" sign on my door means. Is this pretty common, or just a problem in my neck of the woods?

Anyway, I wrote a new sign to hang out:
Attention!

Please Do NOT Ring My Doorbell Unless:
-You Are Delivering Something
-I Know You or I Am Expecting You
~or~
-You are Ed McMahon or Someone Else Bringing Me an Oversized Check

Many Thanks!
Can you tell me if that's too over the top, or worse, if people STILL won't get it?

Comments:
For what it's worth, I like your sign.

Ugh. Our next-door neighbor girl (2 days older than our Abby) is constantly knocking on the door. I get to the point that I want to wring her neck. She doesn't listen when I tell her the girls can't play today or not to come bug Miss Whitney (the babysitter) if we're gone. One day, when we ignored her knocking, she came INTO the back yard (fenced and secured so that twins and dogs cannot escape) and knocked on the BACK door. You can bet I swooped down on her and gave her a piece of my mind.

GRRR!

eh, they won't get it....we have the same issue here. The best way to get rid of them is answer the door wrapped only in a towel....they run away! I know this is true because just the other day it happened to me when my 4 y/o opened the door in spite of mommy shouting from upstairs, "no-no Daniel, don't open that door!"
hope your sign does work though.

Love the sign. I think I'll use it because I also have no soliciting sign and it gets ignored.

I really think it's perfect. I hope it works for you.
Peace............

In my neighborhood they laugh and ring anyway!

Or say "ohh I just saw your no soliciting sign..." and tear head first into their speall to sell me crap. Sometimes I just wanna slam the door!

My prediction is that it won't work. Door to door types are trained to see that sort of thing as an indication that you have weak sales resistance. Hence, it is like throwing chum in the water with the sharks. Good luck, though, let me know how it works out.
