I thought this was kind of sweet

Why We Cared About Anna

"No question, she was beautiful," said Behar, of ABC's "The View." "We know people like to watch dysfunction. But beauty gives you something extra to look at. Dysfunction and beauty: Now that's something to watch."

How was she dysfunctional? Really, how wasn't she? Her strange life seemed to veer from one outsized struggle to another. She struggled famously with her weight and with her family. She sometimes even struggled to speak without slurring. She had a TV show that could be so embarrassing you'd want to watch it with dark sunglasses on. Much more tragically, she lost her 20-year-old son. Five months ago she had a baby daughter and now two men claim to be the father.
I've been trying to figure out why Anna Nicole's death kind of bummed me out, considering I never really watched her show or followed her career. I came to the conclusion that I'd admired the fact that she never let anyone hold her down, not even her crazy self. I hope she's at peace now.

She made some amazing comebacks.

I hope that she's at peace too and that the whole paternity thing works itself out for the best.

For me, it was just one of those shocking deaths. So sad, because I think she did try hard to overcome so much, but always made a poor decision or hit a road block.

It kinda freaked me out because she's a bit younger than I am and so much better looking. Of course, I've never seen any of the interviews or anything that would tip me off that she was a drug user, etc. Plus I thought it was a shame that she lost her son and just had a baby and who knows what will happen with that poor little waif. Visions of Christina Onassis' daughter come to mind.

RYC: I hope you get to keep your inch of snow!

I agree with you about Anna, although there will be a lot of speculation about her death.

This story has dominated the news lately.
She was well known for being a train wreck, and she was indeed very pretty.
I wish she could have gotten her life together, and intervened with her son's drug use.
It is all so sad.
