I'm a loser

The Oscar winners are in, and I've only seen one of the movies. And that was because we took the kids to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, the winner for best visual effects.

This too shall pass, and someday we'll be wishing the kids would come home and see movies with us, instead of trying to line up sitters whenever we want to see a grownup movie. At least that's what they tell us. Until then, we're OK with PG and kids in our laps :-)

We don't go to the movies either. Just rent them when they come out on DVD.

re: weddings. They don't happen enough in our family for me to ever remember what a pain they are. But DD is so excited about getting to be a flower girl...even if she has to wear an "ugly" dress. ha ha

The trouble is, 'grown-up' movies are TOO grown up for children!

We haven't gone to a move since Narnia & the Harry Potter films
(not the nakee Daniel theater crap which will be hard enough to explain without even seeing it).

I haven't cared about an Oscar nominated movie since "Silence of the Lambs".

I don't think I saw any of them either. I didn't feel that lost though.

I usually go to about one movie a year since my punkins were born. This year it was not a pirate movie (sniff!).

this is the first year i haven't seen any of the movies, i used to go once a week and see something, but the kids sports activities have just overtaken our lives and we have almost no free time. if we do, the last thing we seem to want to do is watch a movie. i gotta make some changes.

We didn't see most of the movies either, except for Little Miss Sunshine which is very funny. My daughter and I saw that in the theater and a week later we took my hubby along with us to see it a second time. It's not for little ones though due to some language and some adult themes. No nudity though.
Other than that, we didn't see any of the movies that made the major awards.
I want to see The Departed, even though I know it will be quite violent. I think it probably is a good movie.
