Another post from the radio.
Sorry, we've been driving all over, so I've been listening to the radio a lot...
From Eric Clapton's Bell Bottom Blues:
"And if I could choose a place to die
It would be in your arms."
What?! Please don't! I'm sure he meant it to be romantic, but can you imagine a WORSE thing to wake up to? What was he thinking?
If I wrote it, it would go like this:
"And if I could choose a place to die
It would be in a hospital or other institutional setting so that you will be spared the clean up..."
Subsequent verses would explain how he would have updated his will recently and that accessing the life insurance policy should be no problem. Also, that he fixed up the house so there shouldn't be any major repairs in the first couple of years after his death.
Romance has its place, but I'm a practical gal.

LOL! you're too funny. Honestly I don't remember who cleaned up after my FIL passed away at home. It may have been my SILs. Or more likely my BIL who had been staying and helping out though the entire thing.

No kidding! The only way I would want anyone to die in my arms is if I were dying at the same time. Otherwise, ew!!

lol! I never really thought about it, but you make a good point. The Hemingway out is one extreme, but no one thinks about the other...

What always made me laugh, was when my dad (who is very musical) would start singing some 60's or 70's song, and actually HEAR the lyrics (since my sis & I were listening), and then he'd be like, "Huh, that's not really such a good song, eh?" LOL
Elton John's "I guess that's why they call it the blues" comes to mind. My sister and I almost DIED the first time we realized what he was singing. LOL
