Watchmen

Did anyone go see Watchmen at midnight when it opened last night?

I'm trying to read the graphic novel, and then decide if I'm going to see it. So far, it's pretty interesting, and it's keeping my attention. I keep thinking that The Incredibles has some 'splaining to do, though. What with the government shutting the superheroes down, and now someone's killing "supers." It's just an errant thought from a few chapters in...

It's HARD to read a graphic novel! Does anyone else have this problem? It's a rocky process, because I have to deliberately slow myself down. My eyes want to skip ahead to read the words, but I find I'm missing whole chunks of storyline this way. So, I flip back a lot. I remember reading comic books as a kid, so apparently I've lost this skill somewhere along the way.

Sorry for such a bumpy post, I woke up with a migraine. I wanted to post because it's been a while, but I'm just not really up to fixing all my errors. If you catch something, let me know in the comments and I'll fix it.

Can't help Jen. I saw Kate Winslet in 'The Reader' today.

Never read a graphic novel before. The only comics I ever read as a kid were Archie comics. I won't be seeing the movie until it comes on the TV. :)

I thought the same thing about the Incredibles! Thanks for sharing your blog with me via the 'Bot, Jen. I'll be back!
P.S. Here's mine, if you wanna visit: www.aimeehj.blogspot.com.

IMDB has a pretty good writeup on it, including some comments from recent viewers. You might find what you are looking for there. It does sound as though the Incredibles has some 'splainin to do. Apparently, it does not matter if you have read the graphic novel as they did not so much try to film that as just to get the sense of it on film.

Ah well I went to see it yesterday WITHOUT having read the novel and some of it was confusing but overall I really liked it. Except someone needs to do something about Nixon's nose. hehe

I dropped by from the Gain Exposure to Your Blog 2 swap. And I love your blog!!

You've lost the knack of reading graphic novels and comic books because you've spent too much time reading books. Good for you!
