Couple of things...

Peter Jackson to produce 'The Hobbit'

Jackson, who directed the "Rings" trilogy, will serve as executive producer for "The Hobbit." A director for the prequel films has yet to be named.
Yay!!!!!!! That's all I have to say about that...

Yesterday, Cube posted a video on her blog that made me cry, especially in light of what Jared's doing right now, but also I believe it is an important message in general. So, I'm going to repost it here, with a hat tip to Cube.

Pass it on, please.

very cool!

I'm hoping that when we get our Girl Scout cookies for the soldiers this year that we can time it with when a group gets to come home. DH took us to see some of the guys come home at the Base. We got to watch their plane come in, the guys coming off the plane and finding their families...there was one family that took a bit of time finding eachother and I just bawled when they eventually did find each other. I got asked to take a picture of one family reunited with their son.

I thought it would be nice if the girls could give the guys some cookies...I hope we get a lot of boxes for them!

Ooh, that's a really neat idea, Renee!

I have been doing this for years, with uniformed servicemen as well as vets. I've had grown men cry and then I'll cry with them...

My little brother spent years in the Middle East with the Air Force. Now he has a new job and where is he? Baghdad. Again. Talk about wanting to cry...

Your brother will be in my prayers when my brother is.

That is gooooooooood news!

The Hobbit is more a children's story. I wonder how it wiill be approached?

I'm glad you posted it too. The more people know about this the better.

First and foremost, let me say a big THANKS to your brother Jared!! Marines are tough and cool and strong, and they have my respect. I wish him well in his boot camp training and wherever he serves.

I saw this video over at The Blog. It is terrific! I like the idea of a Thank You Campaign. Our soldiers deserve a boatload of thanks, and too often they don't get it.

I'm glad you stopped by. I was beginning to think you'd dropped off the face of the earth.
Glad to know you're still kicking!!
